We absolutely love keeping in touch with our Howdy Doodles families, and it’s always such a treat to see how our pups are growing and thriving. Today, we’re excited to introduce you to Fin, a lovable, toy-obsessed doodle from Liberty Hill, TX, who has brought nonstop joy and laughter to the Brock Family.
The Brocks were on the hunt for a more allergy-friendly pup when they began exploring different breeds. After lots of research, they landed on doodles and we’re so glad they did. As longtime friends of Aubry (she was their family photographer before becoming a breeder), they had front-row seats to the very beginning of Howdy Doodles. They saw firsthand the care and intentionality that went into building a responsible program, and when the time came, they knew where to turn.
Bringing Fin home was a breeze, even with a cross-country road trip involved. At the time, the family lived in Colorado, and Fin handled the long drive like a pro, snuggled up with his new big sister, Maggie. Thanks to early exposure to Puppy Culture and potty box training, he adjusted quickly to his new routine. In just a few weeks, he was fully house-trained, crate-trained, and already mastering basic commands. “Howdy Doodles did such a great job prepping us,” the Brocks shared. “From product recommendations to training tips, everything helped Fin feel right at home.”
Now two years old, Fin is still full of personality and charm. He's traded in some of that wild puppy energy for a more grown-up vibe, but his playful spirit hasn’t gone anywhere. Fin has been lovingly nicknamed “prancy pants” (I literally cackled when I heard that!) for his joyful habit of parading around the house with a toy the moment someone walks in the door. And if there’s a perch to be found, he’s on it. Couch backs, chairs, the upstairs landing. The Brocks say he's always been that way, ever since he used to climb to the top of the slide during puppy playtime. Some things never change, and we love that about him. Like many doodles, Fin is a classic “velcro dog.” He’s never far from his people, often underfoot during work-from-home days and always ready to snuggle up close. One of his most endearing habits? Every night at bedtime, he tracks down his favorite toy (usually his snuggle puppy or longhorn), and holds it between his paws until he falls asleep. “It’s absolutely precious,” they said. And we believe it.
From watching him experience snow for the first time to seeing the sweet bond grow between Fin and Maggie, the Brocks have made countless beautiful memories. “Fin brings so much joy to our home,” they said. “He can sense when someone’s having a tough day and always knows just how to bring a smile with cuddles, toys, and that signature doodle grin.”
We’re so grateful to the Brock family for sharing Fin’s story and for loving their doodle so well. Want your puppy featured next? Keep an eye out for our Q&A and let us know if you’d like to be part of the blog.
